Dr. Lorne Hofseth is a cancer researcher with over 30 years of experience studying how chronic inflammation and environmental toxins contribute to disease. He is a Professor and Associate Dean for Research at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and Director of the Center for Colon Cancer Research. Originally from Coquitlam, British Columbia, he earned his Ph.D. from Simon Fraser University before continuing his research at Michigan State University and the National Cancer Institute. Since 2004, Dr. Hofseth has led a team focused on how to prevent inflammation-driven diseases. He is also a proud father of three daughters – Jenna, Reagan, and Tance.

Dr. Rebecca Bevans is a cognitive neuroscientist and Professor of Psychology at Western Nevada College. She holds a Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience and a master’s in child development from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her deep dive into synthetic food dyes began as a personal effort to help her son and grew into a national platform. She has since delivered a TEDx talk, appeared on numerous podcasts and radio shows, and was featured in To Dye For: The Documentary. With her students, she has researched the presence of synthetic dyes in everyday products and continues to collaborate with scientists around the world—combining rigorous research with a parent’s passion for change.
